Rules for the 40th session of the Academy of Ancient Wines on June 6, 2024

Read carefully, even if you think you know everything by heart.

To participate in a session you must follow the usual procedure:

• If you come without a bottle of wine, respect the payment dates.

• If you want to come with a wine, offer an old wine and provide all information on the wine, including the level in the bottle (each photo must not exceed 500 KB and must be readable. It will be attached and not in the text of the email)

• Obtain my approval for the proposed bottle(s)

• Respect the age criteria:

• Aperitif champagnes: no rules. These will be gifts from academicians who want to bring them, beyond their contribution

• Champagnes: before 1997

• White wines: before 1991

• Red and sweet wines: before 1972

Dates to respect

• Deliver the wines from April 10 and before May 17

according to the process described here:

The Macéo restaurant accepts to receive the wines that you will deliver to 15 rue des Petits Champs 75001 PARIS

The conditions are as follows:

Bottles placed in a wooden or cardboard box.

Precise indication: “Academy of June 6” visible on the package, in large letters.

No paper stuck on the bottle

No mention written on the bottle

No check included in the package.

As the bottle is in a package, there is no obligation to excessively unroll adhesive rolls which make it difficult to hold the bottle.

Deliveries can be made outside of service hours between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. or between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Director Adrian Williamson has been notified.

Please note: the Macéo restaurant will be closed from 04/27 to 05/13. Do not be mistaken. All wines must be delivered before May 17.

• either send your bottle to the address: François Audouze Société ACIPAR, 44 rue André Sakharov 93140 BONDY.

• Pay your participation on time (before April 22)

• Check payable to « François Audouze AVA » to be sent to François Audouze company ACIPAR 44 rue Andrei Sakharov 93140 BONDY, which is: €180 if you bring an approved wine or €290 if you come without wine.

• Or before April 22 for payment to RIB FRANCOIS AUDOUZE AVA: FR7630003030000005024474342 (I much prefer the transfers which are so easy today)

– The location of the meeting is: RESTAURANT MACEO 15 rue des Petits Champs 75001 PARIS

– Time of the meeting: June 6, 2024 at 7 p.m. and mandatory end at 12:00 a.m.

Additional recommendations:

– do not put a check in the package containing your wine. Checks must be sent separately (I prefer wire transfers).

– do not stick anything on the bottle. Anything stuck on is difficult to remove.

• The restaurant asks me to limit it to 32 people. Hence the interest in registering quickly.

Important general note:

The experience of the 39 previous sessions shows that I am forced to manage far too many special cases at the last moment. We will try not to suffer the imponderables.
